Tristen gets his bike back!!!

I have never seen a happier child in my life. He came out of the house and immediately said "Thank You!” he was so grateful! He didn't waste any time jumping on the bike and taking off down the street. It was awesome. The work that Sunshine Bike Shop (417-883-1113) did was amazing. They donated the parts, labor, and delivery along with a lock I am sure you'd have to steal the fence with to get the bike, and a helmet to protect Tristen while riding his newly redone bike.

I saw the bike before and after, and it now looks brand new! I would know looking at all these new cars all day! ;)

We have more orders to fill, and if you are reading this and feel the want to help out, please give me a call or send me an email. These bikes and repairs aren't cheap and this needs to be done. The further we get along with this project the more we'll figure out. Please let us know if there is anything you can do to help out.

Our next project:

We are going to get William, a young man that cannot ride a bike on the street, a stationary bike. We plan to have this done by Monday! His Mother says he would enjoy that tremendously. Stay tuned as we try to put smiles on these kids’ faces. :)

  1. Hi, it's Mary, Tristen's mom.
Tristen told me, in not so many words, that he wanted to thank you, himself, for his trike coming home.
    Brian:
I want you to know that I took my trike for a spin tonight and rang that cool new bell for all the world to hear. I really enjoyed ignoring Mama and kept going when she was hollering for me to stop. I smiled to myself and kept going. It's great to see her run like a goofball chasing me.
Thanks, Brian, for making one of my most fun times come back to me.
I love my new helmet and kept it on for a while after my ride. I keep it on my tv in my room.
I bought an new keychain for my new keys, I love working the lock.
Mama told me to give her one of the keys so she can keep it for me. I got mad, I want all the keys. She said I could give her one or she will take it herself. She will have to take it herself! I know she will.
    Thank you, Brian.
    Love, Tristen

  2. I remember when Tristen's trike got stolen. I have to admit I had a negative attitude about how cruel people can be. And thought Mary was crazy for calling KY-3. I thought bikes get stolen all the time, cars get broken into things happen. The worst part about that is it usually happens to people like Tristen who never hurt anyone.
The next morning I opened my door to find Tristen's trike. I remember looking towards the sky and saying "God You Got my Attention I was Wrong."
I believe a special Thanks needs to go out to Brian Cowels, he's someone who needs to be recognized for everything he has done. Because of him and God other many other children are recieving God's blessings!!
